What Carbotura is

A manufacturing company.
Not a waste company.

Carbotura builds and operates ACM facilities — industrial plants that receive municipal and industrial materials as a manufacturing feedstock and convert them into synthetic graphite, recovered metals, and clean water. These are manufactured goods sold in global markets.

ACM is not incineration. It is not recycling. It is not waste treatment. The process runs in an oxygen-free, sub-atmospheric chamber using microwave catalytic energy. There is no combustion, no flame, and no stack emissions. Materials are not destroyed — they are reformed into products.

This classification matters: Carbotura operates under manufacturing North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes (Sector 31–33), not solid waste codes. The facility is a factory. The materials Miami-Dade delivers are its manufacturing inputs.

What Carbotura is offering Miami-Dade County

1
Zero capital from the county — ever

Carbotura designs, finances, builds, owns, and operates the facility entirely at its own cost. The county's only obligation is delivering waste. No bonds. No budget line. No balance sheet exposure at any phase from $305M through $3.47B full deployment.

2
Waste becomes a revenue stream — not just a cost

Carbotura converts waste materials into synthetic graphite, recovered metals, and clean water — manufactured products sold in global markets. Under both options, Miami-Dade begins receiving Circular Royalty™ payments starting Month 14. Cash the county earns back from materials it was previously paying to dispose of. What was an escalating cost becomes a source of income — the same waste the county was paying to get rid of now pays the county back.

3
Facility operational in 24 months — before the landfill crisis lands

South Dade Landfill reaches capacity around 2029. Phase Initial goes online by mid-2028 — ahead of the capacity crunch. That arrives before any Waste-to-Energy (WTE) contract ties Miami-Dade to 40 years of escalating rates.

4
Fixed cost certainty against an open-ended alternative

The proposed WTE contract prices at $105/ton rising indefinitely. Under the CSA, the Beneficiation Fee (TMC Fee) starts at $88/ton — $17 below WTE from Day 1. Both escalate at 2.5%/yr. The savings gap widens every year in Miami-Dade's favour for 30 years.

5
~$724M projected benefit — at 500 TPD, just 7% of addressable volume

$28.5M gross cost avoidance plus ~$696M in Circular Royalty™ received over 30 years. This is the floor, not the ceiling. At full deployment (6,000 TPD), Carbotura projects ~$8.69B — 12× Phase Initial. None of this requires county capital.

If Miami-Dade deeds an existing or closed landfill site to Carbotura, Carbotura will pay the county an additional $50/ton royalty on all material processed from that site. This converts a landfill closure liability — estimated at $25M+ per site — into a long-term income instrument. South Dade Landfill, approaching capacity around 2029, is the primary candidate. The landfill becomes a feedstock asset rather than a remediation obligation.
